Think about this, you’ve been working for the last year trying to generate an income from IM. You’ve purchased every tool and subscribed to all this free info and perhaps some of the paid membership websites only to find that you cannot maintain a reliable income.

The week you establish new advertisement you find you get loads of traffic. Your articles are getting 100′s of individuals through your landing page or your Squidoo lens and you are thinking to yourself “That is It I found a way to make money. This time I’ll be rich’. Your sales have gone through and you start checking your statistics every hour because this is so great.

Then 3 weeks later your still checking your Stat’s but your sales have dropped dramatically, perhaps to no sales at all that week. What happened?

I call this the focus loss. You stop concentrating on the activities that are generating you money and you start concentrating on managing parts that you’ve no control over.

I learned this valuable lesson after about 1 1/2 years of effort and had some mediocre results. I was annoyed and I wanted to know what was happening and why I was wasting my time on inconsistent outcomes.

During this frustration period, I happened to read a book I purchased a little while back called ’5-Bucks-A-Day’. Basically as I was skimming the book it hit me that my problem was not that I could not write or my landing pages sucked, or that I did not focus on the things that counted.
