What exactly are landing pages? In internet marketing, landing pages refer to the web page wherein a particular web browser will get redirecting once an advertisement or a link is clicked. Some landing pages include the sales letter of the internet marketer. Others are packed with information about the product and the business. There are also some internet marketers who use their landing pages as a way to interact with the web browser, may it be through acquisition of their email addresses or other ways of establishing a relationship with the potential customers.

Different internet marketers have devised their way of making these landing pages work well for their internet marketing business. Others bombard their browsers with information while some go straight to giving a call of action to buy. Now, what really is the most effective way of using the landing page so that you can increase your sales?

Imagine yourself as a customer. When you come across with an advertisement which got your attention, you would most likely click it or the link. You then get redirected to another web page. Would you buy the product right then and there? It could happen, although the usual scenario is that you would not really buy it at that moment. So what will persuade you to buy a particular product?

You can randomly test different methods like giving out the sales pitch right away or presenting a page filled with ‘buy now’ buttons. Or you can just structure your landing page and work your way towards closing more sales. The tendency for web browsers to whom a sales pitch was immediately presented is to just click the back button. This is not good of course. The reason why this usually happens is because people do not always appreciate hard selling. This causes them to be defensive and apprehensive. For pages which are filled with ‘buy now’ buttons and other ways of executing the call for action, the same logic applies. Some consider this as hard selling. Plus, it also gives out the impression that you are only after their money.

One good strategy is to use the landing pages as a venue for pre selling your products. Know what the people in your targeted market needs and present a concrete solution to this problem right away. Let them know about the results which you can provide. Present first the benefits of your product and then you can move on to presenting the details of the commodity or service that you are offering.

You have to do your research on the most common problems encountered by people in your targeted market. Present this problem and let them know that you are aware of what they are going through or what they are experiencing. Make them aware that you have identified their needs. From there, give an exposition as to how you can solve this problem. Give them concrete solutions and not just a promise that you will make things better. Some internet marketers concentrate on enumerating the good outcome once the product is availed but it only leaves the potential clients hanging. They would be wondering how exactly will their problems be solved. Once you have given them a solid strategy n how you will be solving their problem, move on to the great outcome which they will be experiencing after.

I know this could be too much information for a landing page but there is a way wherein you could construct a landing page which will impart all these without overloading your visitors with too much information. Keep it interesting but concise. Engage your viewers and make them want to read on. What is important is that your landing page should connect with your customers. Make them know that you empathize with them. If you have been neglecting the capacity of the landing page to increase sales, this may be the right time to modify your landing pages and see how positively this can affect your internet marketing business.
