web 2.0

The concept of Web 2.0 has been much talked about in the internet marketing world. Some people are thinking that this is a software or a program which you need to install in your computer or something which you incorporate in your website. Web 2.0 is a byproduct of the innovations in the internet world.

Another perception about Web 2.0 is that it is similar to social networking. So, what is it really? Is social networking just the same as Web 2.0?

It is not impossible to get the two all mixed up. Actually, a lot of internet marketers have been confused with this concept too. I took the time to try to learn more about Web 2.0 because I was also intrigued as to what this new buzz is about.

The reason why most people feel that social networking and Web 2.0 are one and the same because these two work side by side. Actually, Web 2.0 is a platform which allows you, as an internet marketer to enhance the performance of your online business by improving the benefits that you may get from your social networking sites. Web 2.0 serves as a support to your social networking site.

To make things even clear, let us tackle the two and differentiate one from the other.

Social networking is one of the hottest trends now in the internet. Initially, the perception about these social networking sites is that it is designed for personal and casual use, not for business. Truly, when social networking first boomed in the internet world, the structure of it was leaning more towards interaction and relationships via the internet. Individuals keep ties and form new relationships via these social networking sites because it allows you to stay connected with a lot of people. Through social networking sites, you can send updates, information about yourself and share videos and photos. Over the years, social networking has already evolved though, Now, it has emerged as an effective vehicle for promoting and advertising online businesses. A lot of internet marketers have taken advantage of the fact that people who are involved in social networking are also connected to hundreds of other individuals. Hence, this becomes an effective source of potential customers.

Social network is the site wherein you have to become a member so that you too could utilize it either for personal use like being connected with family and friends or for business, wherein you could promote and advertise the product that you are selling.

Web 2.0 on the other hand is the platform where all these things happen. If social networking is the event, Web 2.0 is the venue. It provides the space where the interactions of these thousands of people happen.

Web 2.0 also defines the process and method as to how people will be able to connect and build relationships. This means, Web 2.0 will determine whether interaction will be done through creation of account and profiles or invitations. There are other platforms which offer different methods like news feeds audio and video sharing, incorporating multimedia materials, blogging, sending out personal messages and having message boards. Web 2,0 is the reason why the popular and in demand social networks are in existence.

It was only in 2003 when the entire concept of Web 2.0 was introduced officially. This concept of Web 2.0 was actually questioned for a time because of the premise that the entire internet itself is a venue for interaction so the idea of Web 2.0 should only remain as a jargon.

The following year, in 2004, Web 2.0 has already established its grounds in the internet world and has been popularly known by more and more people. Web 2.0 was introduced in this year as a web platform. With Web 2.0 as a platform, other softwares and applications are then created according to it.

Among the web sites which utilize Web 2.0 are the following. Most likely, you also have heard about these. The sites are:

• You Tube
• Twitter

• Flickr

Most likely, with your involvement in different areas of the internet, you are also a user of one or two among the above mentioned and you just did not realize that you are already using Web 2.0.

If you’ve ever wondered how to generate money on the Internet you’ve probably seen a lot of pages that teach something different. There are infomercials on Television that guarantee to make you money on the Internet and then they charge hundreds of dollars for mediocre info.

Do not get fooled in using all of these products. I am not going to lie some other products do work and are necessary tools but most of them are not. The keyword academy is website that teaches individuals how to generate money on the Internet. The 1st month costs a dollar so that you could try it out to see if it is something you’d like doing.

What makes it different?

Mark and Court are the two owners of the website and they’ve had great success in doing Search Engine Optimization and are eager to teach other people. They teach ideal ways to work smarter and not harder when trying to make some extra cash on the Internet. They do not assure any sort of get rich quick strategies. They tell how it is and the truth of the matter is that you would not be generating much money in a few months. That is just how it is, so it is best to start now if you like to see a little money coming.

I learned how to do Search Engine Optimization from the keyword academy and it’s well worth the price paid. Nothing in life is free, so do not think generating money on the Internet is any different. You must work to make money.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been seeing this web 2.0 craze everywhere. Internet marketing has really seen a lot of changes over the years because of it. We got a nice taste of it when Myspace and Facebook become so popular, but now there’s a new crop of social media sites and they’re taking the internet by storm.

The biggest of the bunch, or atleast the one everyone’s talking about, is Twitter. To be honest with you though, most of the money I make online has nothing to do with web 2.0. But even I’m starting to come around. That’s why I decided to join Twitter a few days ago.

One of the biggest things Twitter has going for it is the fact that you can give all of your followers updates almost as fast as the speed of light. John Chow, a guy that makes most of his money writing about how he make money online, did a very interesting marketing test to see if he could actually make money with his twitter account.

John’s test was extremely successful at showing how he could make money just by promoting a product he was affiliated with through a few short sentences that he wrote to his Twitter followers.

For the average Joe and Jane though, you really need to understand a few things before you decide to make money with web 2.0. You need to understand how web 2.0 has changed internet marketing before you can start making money online with it. The reason are listed below in no particular order, and of course there are more than 3 reasons but I wanted to keep this article relatively short.

Reason #1

Web 2.0 has allowed people from all over the world to communicate with one another without having to call or email each other.
This is a big deal because communication happens so much faster now. So with that in mind, if you want to make money with social media, you have to move really quickly. You can wait if you decide to promote some type of an offer through social media. You have to act now because while you’re thinking about it, someone else is doing it.

Reason #2

People that communicate with you through web 2.0 feel like they have more of a connection with you than any other form of communication. Maybe it’s because you can post pictures of yourself and your friends. Maybe this causes people to feel as if they know you a little better. With this in mind, if you follow the rules of web 2.0 when you’re doing your marketing, you can make quite a bit of money.

Reason #3

Web 2.0 and social media sites rank very well in the search engines. So you can try to ignore them all you want, but most of these web 2.0 will outrank you in the search engines. If you’re trying to rank in Google for a web page that features a product that you’re affiliated with, you better have a page on as many web 2.0 sites as possible. Because if you don’t, your competition will outrank you, and beat you to the cash.

I’m sure there are many more reasons though, so feel free to add your own reasons in the comments section.
