Twitter is a very new type of microblogging, that allows people to give a very short answer to one question all day, every day. For example you could say: “What are you doing?” This type of microblogging is a ‘tweet’ of 140 characters or fewer, and can potentially have a very large networking and money-making potential. But in order to do this, and make money for your charity, organization, or business, you must first know how to get the necessary exposure and have people learn about you.
First, you must choose a logical name, and one that sounds businesslike. Realize that changing your username changes the web connection to your tweets, so don’t change too often. Also, organize your profile well, and make sure that you look professional. In addition, if you want to make money, you can add adverts to your profile, but people like twitter because adverts are lacking, so don’t let them take it over. Finally, be interesting, and make sure that you create quite a buzz with whatever you are saying. If there is something interesting that you are going to do, tease tweeters for quite a while before you tell them what it is. A little foreshadowing can cause quite a stir. A boring tweeter won’t be around for that long.
